Research source discovery template

Start from one source and let Kollab recommend the papers, books, talks, people, and critical viewpoints worth following next.

Searching for more information is easy. Finding sources that are credible, diverse, and actually useful for the next step is harder.

Kollab can use a seed article, transcript, product page, or note to build a curated source list with reading order, difficulty, viewpoint, and why each item matters.

How it works

  1. 01

    Evaluate the seed

Kollab first identifies what the seed source explains, assumes, omits, and overemphasizes.

  2. 02

    Find diverse sources

The agent searches for papers, books, talks, interviews, primary documents, and critical viewpoints.

  3. 03

    Rank by usefulness

Each source gets difficulty, credibility, viewpoint, why it matters, and the question it helps answer.

  4. 04

    Create a reading queue

The final list becomes a sorted research queue with tags, next actions, and sources to avoid.

Starter prompt

Help me find high-quality sources to continue researching this topic.

Seed material:
- Link or note: [paste here]
- Topic I want to understand: [topic]
- My goal: [learn the basics / build a product / write an essay / make an investment decision]
- Preferred formats: [papers / books / podcasts / lectures / blog posts / interviews]

Please:
1. Identify what the seed material covers and what it does not cover.
2. Recommend follow-up sources in these groups:
   - Best starting points
   - Deeper technical or academic sources
   - Critical or opposing viewpoints
   - People worth following
   - Primary sources or original documents
3. For each source, include title, author or organization, format, link if available, difficulty, why it matters, and what question it helps answer.
4. Sort the list into a recommended reading order.
5. Flag weak, promotional, or low-signal sources that I should avoid.
6. Save the final list as a research reading queue with tags and next actions.
