If you searched for the ChatGPT team plan, the current name is ChatGPT Business. OpenAI renamed Team on August 29, 2025. The rename itself left pricing unchanged; subsequent pricing changes are separate. The official rules below were checked on October 25, 2026.[1]
A useful comparison starts with what people will do. Agenta's October 15, 2026 article discusses model choice, collaboration and data access. Drephos's page, updated October 7, 2026, emphasizes differences in team usage and operational effort. Spinnable's October 15 article focuses on completed work. Each publisher promotes its own product, so their lists show comparison dimensions and carry no independent ranking.[3][4][5]
What does ChatGPT Business cost?
| Comparison | Monthly billing, per user per month | Annual billing, equivalent per user per month | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $25[1] | $20[1] | [1] |
| Premium | $125[1] | $100[1] | [1] |
OpenAI lists the following USD prices. Country and currency can affect pricing. Checked October 25, 2026.[1]
Notes
These are published plan prices. Regional checkout totals, taxes and promotional eligibility have not been verified for this guide.
How do seats and credits affect the decision?
ChatGPT Business requires at least two paid seats. A workspace can combine Standard and Premium seats. New subscriptions generally have a 200-paid-seat limit from August 24, 2026, with exceptions for older workspaces. Checked October 25, 2026.[1]
Adding a paid seat triggers a prorated charge for the remaining billing period. Seat reductions take effect in the next billing period. Removing a member leaves the purchased seat count unchanged, and unused seats do not by themselves qualify for a refund once the workspace commits to the seat count for the billing cycle.[1]
Both seat types include ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and Codex. Seat-included usage and workspace credits are separate layers. Eligible additional usage depends on workspace settings. Business subscription charges also sit separately from API inference charges; API credits and rate limits do not transfer into Business.[1]
ChatGPT Business has an additional-credit mechanism. Compare its rules for the work you need to run.[1]
Which team concerns deserve a closer look?
In a Reddit thread dated July 14, 2026, daniyilrs described a company of roughly 50 people and estimated that “about 10/50 will use it.” That is one team's adoption concern. It gives prospective buyers a practical question: how many people need regular access?[6]
In a July 3, 2026 Reddit post, MrShnatter reported difficulty sharing conversations externally after upgrading. Treat the account as a case to investigate in your own sharing workflow. It does not establish a limitation across every Business workspace.[7]
The July 14 discussion also includes different preferences for internal information retrieval and project estimation. Those comments suggest tasks to evaluate. They do not establish a product-wide winner.[6]
Which alternatives appear in existing comparisons?
| Comparison | Where it appears | Publisher's comparison angle | Question for your evaluation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Team | Agenta, Drephos and Spinnable[3][4][5] | Model-provider team plan[3][4][5] | Does its approach fit the tasks your team repeats?[3][4][5] |
| Microsoft 365 Copilot | Agenta, Drephos and Spinnable[3][4][5] | AI inside Microsoft's workplace apps[3][4][5] | Which existing tools must your AI workflow reach?[3][4][5] |
| Gemini / Google Workspace | Agenta, Drephos and Spinnable[3][4][5] | AI inside Google's workplace apps[3][4][5] | What work should stay within your current tools?[3][4][5] |
| Agenta | Agenta[3] | Controlled agents and self-hosting[3] | How much deployment control do you need?[3] |
| Langdock, Dust, Genspark and Perplexity | Agenta[3] | Multi-model workspaces, shared agents and research tools[3] | Which collaboration and data-access requirements matter?[3] |
| TeamAI, Magai, Geekflare Chat and Poe | Drephos[4] | Multi-model team subscriptions, usually per person[4] | How evenly will your team use the service?[4] |
| Drephos | Drephos[4] | Its own shared-wallet approach[4] | How does the billing structure fit your usage pattern?[4] |
| Spinnable | Spinnable[5] | Its own AI workers and completed work[5] | What completed output should the workflow deliver?[5] |
This table summarizes which products the three articles cover. Product inclusion is attributed to each article, and the citations sit in the "Where it appears" column. The final column identifies a question to investigate, with no verified capability claim attached. Agenta, Drephos and Spinnable each direct readers toward their own offering.[3][4][5]
Notes
This guide has not verified plan prices for these alternatives, so the table carries no cost or performance ranking.
When is a Kollab workspace worth evaluating?
Kollab describes a workspace with unlimited team seats and one shared credit balance. Its public pages list chat, image and video capabilities alongside scheduled workflows. That combination is relevant when several people need to produce different kinds of output through a shared workspace. These are documented product claims; this guide has not run a hands-on test.[2][8]
Kollab's CLI gives an agent that can install a Skill and run terminal commands a route to Kollab's cloud capabilities. Consider it when part of your team's work already starts in an agent or terminal.[9]
Plan boundaries matter. Kollab's pricing lists Pro with 6,000 credits per month and Max with 80,000 credits per month. Custom domains are available on Pro and above. These plan details were checked on October 25, 2026. All plans include team administration and roles, and administrators can view member usage rankings (top 20). These administration capabilities were checked on October 26, 2026.[8]
Kollab is a candidate for teams evaluating shared credits, multimodal output, scheduled work and a CLI together. Teams whose requirement is the native ChatGPT Business environment should evaluate OpenAI's plan against that requirement. All Kollab plans include team administration and roles, and administrators can view member usage rankings (top 20). This is fit guidance based on the documented scope.[2][8][9][1]
A workspace owner or administrator generates an invitation link in the members section of settings. Each invitee opens the link, signs in or registers with their own account, and accepts the invitation. Members share the workspace's credit balance.
New standalone tasks and projects are visible to their resource owner by default. Joining a workspace does not automatically grant access to every project or task. Tasks and files within a project follow its collaboration permissions. Leaving or being removed revokes workspace membership access. That action does not automatically delete the member's conversations, files or projects, or split or refund a personal share of the credits. Confirm data handover and retention arrangements with the workspace owner.
Before you start
Use these three steps as evaluation guidance. They draw on the adoption concerns and comparison dimensions above; they are not a record of a completed product test.
How should a team make its shortlist?
- 1
Step 1
Identify the people and tasks. Estimate regular participation, then list the outputs those people need. The adoption concern in daniyilrs's July 14 post is a useful starting point.[6]
- 2
Step 2
Match billing and controls to that work. Review OpenAI's seat-change rules and separate API charges. For Kollab, review the shared-credit plan. All plans include team administration and roles, and administrators can view member usage rankings (top 20). OpenAI's pricing and plan rules checked October 25, 2026. Kollab's team administration and member usage rankings checked October 26, 2026.[1][8]
- 3
Step 3
Evaluate a representative workflow. Check the required output, sharing destination and existing-tool integration. Include scheduled or CLI work when those are part of the requirement. Record what succeeds before choosing a workspace.[3][7][2][9]
